Friend of the Week!

My friend of the week is 2 year old Zino from Belgium! Zino lives with a very loving Mommy and Daddy. His daddy takes him for walks almost every morning and his mommy or daddy come home at lunchtime to walk and play with him! He loves playing with his toy chicken by running after it and biting it hard. Zino's grandma and grandpa(his mommy's mom and dad) have a dog named Jaro who is adopted. They barely fit on the couch when they sleep together on it. Jaro didn't really like Zino and first, but now they sometimes play together (in my opinion, that's better than no play at all!).

It sounds like you have a great family Zino and I am so happy that you are my friend!

Photo Caption Friday!

So, this week we didn't have too many caption ideas but we went through them all just like we always do. There were a couple of stand out captions but even then, it was really hard to choose one. So, here it is!

Music in the Park

Every Thursday from early July to late August is Music in the Park. It's at our local Cottage Lake Park in Woodinville, Wa so we go every year. I always go with Mom, but Sadie doesn't usually come because she does NOT like all the people. There have been two so far and a third Music in the Park tonight. We go every week because it's a wonderful way to end the day!

Mom always brings my Chuck-It to play ball with me a few times during the 2 hours. Sometimes I want to play with it right away, but Mom says I have to wait.

We always have fresh water and plenty of treats!

Then there is the music! That is already provided for us and I enjoy listening to it.

Friend of the Week!

My friend for this week is Daisy!

Daisy turned 10 years old two days ago on July 21st and she is still looking good (if I do say so myself)! She loves laying in the sun in her air conditioned house. Daisy loves going for walks, but is not a good car dog. She can't go on very long car rides because, as her mom puts it, "As soon as you shut the windows, (say on the highway), she starts to have a panic attack like she thinks she is running out of air".

You know what Daisy? I am so happy that you are my friend of the week!

Photo Caption Friday!

We had a great week with the Caption It! There were a lot of great suggested captions and that always makes choosing a winning caption tougher. In the end I decided to pick two that I felt worked together. This way both me and Spice are saying something.

So here it is!

Pet-A-Palooza

This is the first year we have gone to the Pet-A-Palooza at Marymoor Park in Redmond, Wa. I'm surprised we haven't gone before because it's a 20 minute drive from our house, and very easy to get to. It wasn't as big as some events we've gone to but it was fun and close to home. We will definitely be coming back next year!

I was super hot when I got to the first booth because Mom took me to the dog park right before and I'd been running around a lot. That's okay though because I was offered a doggie smoothie while I was there. I wouldn't eat it unless someone held the bowl for me. Yes, I'm spoiled!

I also got this really awesome tattoo there. It was either alpha dog or little devil and I just can't see myself as part devil.

I shared the water bowl with another dog because both of us wanted a drink and I was always told to be kind to others.

The BEST part is that I got to meet a whole bunch of new friends! Yes, I will probably never see any of them ever again, but it was a whole lot of fun while it lasted.

I was the coolest dog there and I can't wait to go next year!

Photo Caption Friday!

This was a good Caption It week. I had 3 captions that I really liked and I wasn't sure which one to use because I liked all three. After much debating with the family, we finally decided on one.

The Cone of Shame

In my last post I talked about my trip to the beach and how I went swimming in the water. Well, that was only half the story. I did go swimming, during low tide, when all the rocks with barnacles are out of the water or close to the shore. Every time I ran to get my toy, the barnacles would cut my feet. Mommy didn't know I was even hurt because I showed no signs that I was in pain. I only wanted to keep swimming after my float toy.

Mommy stopped playing with me when she saw blood on the rocks. I don't even remember her cleaning my feet off because I just wanted my toy and that's all I could focus on. We left the beach right after this happened because Mommy didn't want the salt water and other germs to sit in my wounds for a long time. When we got home, I got a bath before Mommy cleaned out the cuts with alcohol. Mommy watched me for a bit to make sure I wasn't licking my feet and I kept going under the bed to do just that. Mommy said " Oscar, if you lick your paws one more time I will put the cone of shame on you!" and I thought OH NO! NOT THE CONE OF SHAME! ANYTHING BUT THE CONE OF SHAME!

I didn't listen to her and this is what happened.

It was so not cool, but I still made the cone look good. There is some good news too. I AM FREE OF THE CONE! That's right. As of yesterday, I have not needed the cone once because I am leaving my paws alone!

I couldn't be happier and I hope I don't need the cone for a long, long, long time!

The Beach

My Mommy, soon-to-be daddy, and me went to the beach this past Saturday. This is one of my all time favorite things to do. Living near the coast does have its perks. Usually we get there in the evening when the tide is higher, but this time we got there at low tide and it was really interesting to see all the rock with barnacles on them.

Look what I found! A crab!

We saw a BIG fallen tree too! I wasn't too sure about walking on top of it but Mommy guided me.

Here I am sitting on top with my soon-to-be new daddy.

I walked in the water, but the waves made it harder to get too far out. They were pushing me back to the shore.

I thought standing on this rock would be a good idea, but the tide started coming in and Mommy had to help me get off.

Look! I'm king of the beach!!!!

Normally this tree stump is mostly underwater, but not today! I found that it was a nice place to find some shade.

I couldn't wait to go swimming! I kept looking at the kids playing on the beach and wishing I could play in the water too.

Please Mommy? Can you throw the toy for me?

Yes!!!! Success!

It was a great day and I had so much fun! I can't wait to go again!

My 4th of July

My 4th of July was great! It was super busy, but super fun at the same time. The whole family got up around 6 am because we needed to get ready to go to a 4th of July breakfast at 8 am. I got wear my patriotic shirt and my new doggles. When we first got there though, I had to wear my red jacket because it was really cold.

The jacket came off when it got a little warmer and I got to show off my patriotic spirit!

I really wanted some of Mommy's fruit. She said I couldn't have any grapes because they are bad for dogs, but I did get some watermelon and cantaloupe. Soon-to-be Daddy gave me some of his scrambled eggs and pancake. It was delicious!

In the afternoon, Mommy and Louis took me for a walk down to a firework stand about a mile from our house. I wanted to beg at the counter but Mommy said I couldn't. Here I am looking at all the fireworks.

We did fireworks in the evening and I got to lay in the back of Mommy's car because I don't mind the noise and I really LOVE the fireworks that shoot really high in the air.

Oh yeah, it was a great Day!
