Photo Caption Friday!

I can't believe it's been two weeks since I blogged last! I promise to start blogging more, but it's just been really crazy around here. I'll explain more later, but now it's time for the caption it! We didn't get too many captions this week, but we got enough to get a good one. So, here it is!

Photo Caption Friday!

So this week, I did things a little bit different with the caption it. There were two photos instead of one because Mommy is going on vacation next week and won't be able to do it. Once Mommy and her boyfriend come back, I will pick up blogging as I normally do.

The winning captions this week are:

Birthday Cake Recipe

I am posting the recipe for the dog birthday cake because it is super tasty and want my friends to be able to try it out too!

Ingredients for the cake:

2/3 cup ripe mashed bananas

1/2 cup softened butter

3 large eggs

3/4 cup water

2 cups unbleached flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons cinnamon

Frosting Ingredients:

2 cups mashed banana

1 tablespoon butter

6 tablespoons carob flour

2 teaspoons vanilla

3 tablespoons unbleached flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the cake:

In a mixing bowl, beat together mashed banana and butter until creamy. Add eggs and water. Beat well. Stir in dry ingredients until smooth. Spoon batter evenly into oiled and floured round cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes, remove from pan, place on wire rack to cool.

For the frosting:

Blend thoroughly and spread on cool cake. The frosting has carob in it, which is a safe substitute for chocolate.

My 7th Birthday!

Yesterday I turned 7 years old and don't feel it at all! I have just as much energy as I did 6 years ago. The only difference is that I have white hair on my face now! Well, my birthday was great and I will blog more about it in the next few days. Right now I am going to talk about the party and the cake.

Mommy made the cake and frosting. I will post the recipe for it tomorrow. Auntie Miko, Sadie, my friend Bailey, and I all sat at the table waiting to eat cake.

Here I am with my cake

It was very Tasty!

It was so good that I licked my plate clean!

Sadie loved her piece so my that she tried to swallow it whole! Mommy had to pull it out of her throat.

My friend Bailey wouldn't eat at the table. She wanted to have her cake on the floor.

Over all it was a great birthday party. Nothing big, but so much fun!

Our 3rd Anniversary

Most people don't know this but Sadie and I have been "married" for 3 years, as of yesterday. We had our Muttrimony On June 6, 2009 at Duvall Days thanks to the Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. Mommy paid $20 for the whole thing and that money went to the rescue. The first pictures are from our Muttrimoney.

Here is the bride getting ready

Reading the wedding vows

Signing the certificate

We are a good looking couple!

People often ask how we stay happily married. That is such an easy question to answer. I obey Sadie. If she kicks me out of bed in the middle of the night, I stay out. If she tries to steal food out of my bowl, I let her have to whole thing. I back off when she growls and snaps at me because she doesn't like how rough I'm playing or maybe I stepped on her. I would protect her with my life if it came down to it. I love this girl!

Wait!!!!!

We can't forget about our children! We have four adopted kids that we love dearly. Ginger the guinea pig and Gollum the Leopard Gecko are the oldest. They belonged to me before we even got married and Sadie has accepted both as her own. We adopted Vanilla Bean two years ago with her sister Cocoa. Sadly, Cocoa got sick this past month and passed away on May 12th of this year. It's not easy to lose your baby when you love them so much. You never really get over a tragedy like this, but life goes on. We had little time to grieve though because our little bundle of joy Cinnamon Spice was adopted into our family on May 17th at the age of just 6 weeks old. All the older kids accepted baby Spice from day one and we couldn't be a happier family!

Fun with My Basketball

I'm just putting this out there- I LOVE MY BASKETBALL! There, now you know. I would play with it all day if I could, but Mommy takes it away when I get way too tired! Most of the time I don't even wait for Mommy to kick the ball before attacking it like a mad dog. Sometimes though, Mommy makes me wait until she gives me the Okay to run for it! That is what I am blogging about today.

First is the waiting, which I hate. I just want to play with the basketball already!

Then, Mommy says " Oscar Okay. Go get it Oscar!" That is my cue to run like my life depends on it!

I'm getting closer now!

Almost there!!

Just a little faster!!!

I made it! Now I can slobber and attack it as much as I want!
