My First Friend of the Week Is......

My very first friend of the week is Carmichael! It's so nice to meet you buddy!

Carmicheal is about 2 1/2 years old and was adopted in March of this year. He also loves his Mommy very much! The duck toy in the the picture is his favorite toy. He loved it so much that his mommy had to buy a lot of them because he goes through them so fast.


*Hehe* If I had that duck toy, I would go through it fast too! Carmicheal, you are so very cute and I am happy to have you as a friend!

End of the First Caption It Quarter

I have to say that the first quarter for the Caption It has gone really well. I also said that I would put away 25 cents for every caption suggestion. At the end of 3 months, that money would become a donation to the Motley Zoo Animal Rescue because we really like them. We will either give a money donation or donation in food, beds, toys, or other much needed pet related items. Thanks to all of your comments, we raised $21. I am adding in another $9 making it $30. Now I am asking all my friends in Washington if any of you would like to add any donations to this?

We are going to be helping dogs like my sister Sadie, who was a rescue.

Here's to the next 3 months! Let's try to raise more money!

I can't believe it's been two weeks since I blogged last! I promise to start blogging more, but it's just been really crazy around here. I'll explain more later, but now it's time for the caption it! We didn't get too many captions this week, but we got enough to get a good one. So, here it is!

So this week, I did things a little bit different with the caption it. There were two photos instead of one because Mommy is going on vacation next week and won't be able to do it. Once Mommy and her boyfriend come back, I will pick up blogging as I normally do.

Birthday Cake Recipe

I am posting the recipe for the dog birthday cake because it is super tasty and want my friends to be able to try it out too!













Ingredients for the cake:

2/3 cup ripe mashed bananas


1/2 cup softened butter


3 large eggs


3/4 cup water


2 cups unbleached flour


2 teaspoons baking powder


1 teaspoon baking soda


2 teaspoons cinnamon





Frosting Ingredients:

2 cups mashed banana


1 tablespoon butter


6 tablespoons carob flour


2 teaspoons vanilla


3 tablespoons unbleached flour


1 teaspoon cinnamon






For the cake:

In a mixing bowl, beat together mashed banana and butter until creamy. Add eggs and water. Beat well. Stir in dry ingredients until smooth. Spoon batter evenly into oiled and floured round cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes, remove from pan, place on wire rack to cool.




For the frosting:

Blend thoroughly and spread on cool cake. The frosting has carob in it, which is a safe substitute for chocolate.

My 7th Birthday!

Yesterday I turned 7 years old and don't feel it at all! I have just as much energy as I did 6 years ago. The only difference is that I have white hair on my face now! Well, my birthday was great and I will blog more about it in the next few days. Right now I am going to talk about the party and the cake.

Mommy made the cake and frosting. I will post the recipe for it tomorrow. Auntie Miko, Sadie, my friend Bailey, and I all sat at the table waiting to eat cake.

Over all it was a great birthday party. Nothing big, but so much fun!
